Background:  Peninsula Bay Community Facility (PBCF)

In 2008 the Peninsula Bay Community Facility was established by the developers of the Peninsula Bay subdivision (Infinity Investment Group and other joint venture partners - Infinity) as the focus for the extensive sub-division with its lake and mountain views.  Property owners were offered access to the Facility upon payment of an annual membership fee and Infinity provided management and maintenance services.  

 

The intention was always to transfer management of the Facility from Infinity to the community.  The developers set up the Peninsula Bay Community Facility Incorporated (PBCFI) as an Incorporated Society, and in March 2015, the property was sold to PBCFI by way of a loan.  Under the Sale and Purchase Agreement, the vendors retain first rights to purchase back the property at the original purchase price of $40,250 should PBCFI be wound up or resolve to sell the property.

 

​On 1 February 2019 Infinity transferred management of PBCFI to a Committee elected at the AGM in October 2018.  This Committee is responsible for all management and maintenance previously provided by Infinity.  The initial concern for the Committee was to ensure a sustainable financial base to enable a satisfactory maintenance programme associated with replacement and repair of some of the ageing equipment.  From this base there has subsequently been sufficient income from subscriptions to permit the repayment of the debt owed to Infinity, the provision of better shade with three sails and the installation of a solar system to assist with electricity costs.

 

Fitness classes are available and there is hope that yoga can be resumed.   A herb garden has been created and fruit trees planted for use of the wider community.
